Hello fellow antiquers! I just acquired an amazing vintage/antique toy. It is a beautiful and unique tiger nodder! The toy appears to be paper mache with a soft texture (not flocked). I know of a putzz elephant with the same texture and in my research I found cotton was used with the paper mache. I'm not sure about this - if anyone has any knowledge on the technique used to create a soft, hide-like fur on top of paper mache please share. That might be a clue to help figure out more about the tiger. I believe the eyes are glass but I've never been too good at judging eye material. The tiger is holding some sort of critter in its mouth (sheep?) The nodder is 5" long. I'm not sure whether the tail was added or if it is original. It is a painted spring and it is about 7" long. The painton the tail matches the color of the hide very well. I hope you enjoyed this tiger! I'm currently researching the toy if anyone would care to join the hunt! Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated. -Jason
