Amber earrings M.I.W. Germany

    Hope someone might know about these. There are amber and rainbow beads. Feel like glass.

    could be. But the M.I.W. is above Germany. I thought it was a company name. Thanks Marie much better. I'll give them a good cleaning and take more pictures in the light.

    Yep - West Germany earrings, late 50s to early 60s.

    Other pieces I'm finding are dating the mark post war, pre split. So between 1945 to 1949.

    The style is 50s/60s. Might be proper amber chips.

    I ran two of the tests and failed both. I think they are just amber glass, but the other ones with the rainbow coloring I'm not sure.

    To my eye, the 'amber' beads appear to be the same shape, typical of glass, the others are molded glass with an iridescent coating - the beads likely from the 'Neugablonz' factories that started up in Germany shortly after WWII...
