All designs were based on the coastal region of Fischland, and he only used local real Baltic amber and stones mined in Germany.</p><p>When the eastern part of Germany became the GDR Walter fled to the west, and his company was &#039;nationalised&#039; as Fischland. When I researched Walter Kramer, I noticed that Fischland had also made some nice pieces which are now being recognized as a specific part of that strange GDR period.</p><p><br /></p><p>Some of my 1930s Walter Kramer pieces, with real amber.
