On the other hand, I sold a first edition John Steinbeck that had a plain cover and not much interest to me for $50 and I got it at the swap shop free. One never knows.

    Best deal yet....
Was out saleing in Spring Valley Calipornia. ;)
Stopped at a Rally's (burger chain) for lunch but no restroom. They sent me across the lot to a gas station where I found, absolutely plastered to the asphalt by God knows how many cars, 2 perfectly laid out $100 bills!
Went to a G sale across the street where I bought a first editon For Whom the Bell Tolls with a nice cover for $1.
At that time its value was about $125.

    Hi,
I was digging in an old dump (abandoned in the 40s). Found a rats nest made out of paper money all chewed up to make the nest. I took as much of it as I could to my bank. I told the teller that my son's Gerbils chewed it up to make a nest. The manager sent it off to Washington. A few weeks later I got a check in the mail for 68 dollars. This was in the 60s so it was a nice haul.

Too bad that story can't be traced back. Would be interesting to discover how that happened and what transpired when found missing. ;)
