It would seem, from the chess pieces, that I'm a master chess player but in reality I'm not that good at all. My Son and I play quite a lot but that's the only time I play so knowing who made the pieces is well beyond me, and yes the Dutch museum was the place to go when finding out who made them but not the date it seems I will post a better pic when done but the whole story of making the fitted interior is thus, I saw these pieces on sale on ebay from the US and thought they maybe ivory as to their whiteness (no visible black dots) and the price was good even for a bone set so I bought them. The seller sent them in a tin without any padding so by the time they arrived they were smashed to bits I was angry to say the least but the seller didn't hesitate in giving me a full refund but the seller didn't want to pay the return postage and said I should keep them (I'd also paid import tax) Anyway I then spent a day drilling tiny holes and gluing metal pegs into the breaks and by the end of the day you could hardly tell they had been broken at all I'm sure they would be fine rattling around in a box now but I thought they deserved a place where they would stay intact for the next 200 years and I'm not short of nice boxes for them to go in I will take detailed photos of both the set and the box when I'm happy but the whole lot (including the box as I also restored that) cost me less than £100. I'm sure if I were to list them as a package board, box, and set, they would do quite well.
