Are you a box collector? I see your profile pic, it looks lovely, what is it?

And your guess is spot on. I'm a fascinated buyer. I own a British home goods store in the US that sells both antiques and new product all from England. I personally have been a box lover for years but was afraid of the price point for the store (that gorgeous piece on my profile retails around $5,000 us) so I only bought a few this trip....all but one sold within a week of landing in the store so apparently I'll be buying more. I have a great connection in England for boxes. He's an 80....89 year old man who has collected and sold for years. I bought the cheep stuff...his collection is like walking into a museum.

I love that bible box...I have two designers coming to see it next week. I will be so sad to let it go...well maybe heh heh I do grow attached to items in the store and that one is top of my list.

I also love boxes, unfortunately I don't have the odd £5000 to buy what I love so I have decided to buy the upcoming treasures that aren't quite so much money but often these boxes are more skilled in their manufacture and use better materials...I'm saying that but Anglo Indian stuff is on the rise as well as early Persian Khatam, fortunately I have managed to buy some on ebay without costing the Earth. This is one I managed to get for a song but even with the damage would fetch £1000's https://www.antiquers.com/threads/t...an-find-anywhere-in-the-world-19-18thc.17348/

Fantastic box, one day I might be able to reach those heights. Love the feet and the lock, well in fact I love the whole box :)

We call it burr. ;) The knotty growth caused by a cell deformity, can be bug or weather triggers.
