Another #2

Have several more all purchased from a mansion in cecil county MD. It must have been vacant for years. All untouched. Dust cob webs the whole deal.

 

That looks like something done in art class.

Or something done by a famous artist. I think its amazing and a bit dark.

 

Not being facetious but... One does a similar exercise in Drawing 101.

Well my dear im feeling lucky on this one. Love to figure out though. I have been searching.

 

Quite seriously... It does look like the Drawing 101 exercise where one draws figures using the value scale. (The results can be quite professional looking.) And a classroom assignment is also one of the reasons a work might be dated with month + date + year. (The date of yours was Monday, a school day.) What type of paper is it done on? Could it possible have come from a sketch pad?

It almost looks like a piece of construction. My thought is it a a wedding drawing or the day they met. Maybe..

 

It seems like a new student would have made sure his name was correct or at least look good

 

The sketch would have gone into his/her portfolio which the instructor would go through and grade once a week or so. It would be marked with name on exterior.

I took a drawing class with models. We had 2 mins. to sketch each pose. finally we were given a whole 5 mins. That is what this looks like.

 

I'm just working on the signature not the piece. Thats all I want.

 

Everyone starts somewhere : Rembrandt was once a student, just sayin"....... I hope it turns out to be a lost treasure !
