Hello! Another item (metal) that I am keen to figure out. I am not great with identifying metals, especially knowing if they are older or more modern. This vase has an Art Nouveau aesthetic but is it older or a more recent repro from India for example? I'd love to know how you can tell. Measures 4.75"H x 5.5"L x 4.4"W. Thanks as always!

It doesn't look all that old to me, but I'm not an expert. Doesn't look like repop either, more like a reinterpretation of the older style. OTOH I could be all wet, so...

it makes me think spitoon. But I guess it's too small to be a regular spittoon and too big to be an individual spittoon.

Thickness and quality of the workmanship make me think this is not a recent piece. May be 20th century but think first half rather than the second.

Hi! So I just had a chance to look as per your recommendation. I found the word "Mimikuchi" associated, so when I Googled that I found lots of examples! Here is one sold at Bonhams (obviously not like mine, mine is more in the $60 range likely and not as old!) for reference. Bonhams : A bronze mimikuchi ('ear-mouth') shape vase for Rikka flower arrangements Edo period (1615-1868), late 18th/early 19th century (2)

This listing mentions Japanese flower arranging, but others say incense burner. Thanks for your help!
