Alright basket people. Looking at you Komokwa. About 4”-5” diameter. Picked up for a buck at a thrift store a few weeks ago. Sort of has the look but could be anything as far as I know. What do I have? Cute little basket either way. I call those "George Wharton James" baskets, after the fellow who wrote a book on how to make "Indian" baskets in 1903. Started a hobby craze of coiled baskets made of raffia.

So “in the style of” made by a whitey. Could have been made at any time in the last 100 years or so?

Only loosely "in the style of". Not really a technique used by NA, and not a traditional material. So, a hobbyist (of whatever ethnicity), probably first half of the 20th cen.
