Even with Charlie drawing a circle around the mark, I still can't see it. It just looks like another spot of tarnish to me. I did notice the thickness of the piece but then I've seen finer silverplate that was thick as well.

Great eye, Mr Nate and Charlie!
I didn't see the 925 in the bottom of the bowl either.
I should have known, since I have a sterling bowl stamped like that, too. But when you're only looking at photos, it's more challenging
I was concerned about the crudely formed scrollwork and saw marks.

So @MrNate what do you think about age and origin?

Those saw marks are one thing that made me think "real"; with plated pieces they usually pretty those up.

For age and origin I would guess fairly modern, just a guess but no older than 1950s/60s. Origin is tough because I would have expected 800 for Italy but it has a European vibe to me, could be completely wrong.

Helpful game! I'm not used to checking for the marks inside a bowl. Will do so from now on!

Yes, and I'm always surprised that they stamped it in such a conspicuous place.

If I see something on the front of a dish, it's usually a spot where the plating has worn off.(sigh)

I was going by , as Nate said the effort. I could not see the recessed bottom if not silver. Wondered if it had a glass insert. But mainly , I was going by the tarnish. no yellow color to the tarnish and uneven. I did not see the mark either.
