The experts are starting to comment, so I'll update this post as I get more info. No one has disagreed so far in my claim that it is an authentic piece from the early 1900s. In keeping with Any Jewelry's, laura 9797, and blooey's advice, and what I had found myself, I think it's safe to say I have a two-handled Deruta-style Faience Majolica vase, urn, or jar of medium quality, featuring a bust of a man (likely an Amsterdammer) donned in a large, Ottoman-style turban. The piece is 10.5" tall and 9" from handle to handle and weighs about 3.25 lbs It's somewhat lustrous, with decorative Renaissance (I think) designs & features. The glaze has variations in thickness, and the bottom ring terracotta bisque has a rougher texture and different color than the rest of the foot. It is glazed inside and out and marked Italy 614 on base/foot. As far as condition, it has issues commensurate with age, use, and common storage: rim, foot, and body chipping/chips, as well as sporadic dings/dimples and small cracks in the opaque, tin/lead white glaze, exposing the rough earthenware pottery clay base. I think it's worth a few a few hundred, maybe more. I'm not on this site to sell, but, like most of the pieces I list, I would consider offers, especially from people who are transparent about fair market value and genuinely want the pieces for their private collections. Thanks for your time and attention. As always, I look forward to and sincerely appreciate any responses.
