So this was $6 then 20% off. Looking at the irregular stones, I figured carnelian. The Presidium tests the orange carved stones high in jadeite, some going into topaz. The darker smooth stones test as tourmaline. I think the clasp was replaced. Is it carnelian agate, jadeite, or something else? Thanks. Lumii_20240421_184414960.jpg

Yup. I've seen rock crystal carved that way. My first throught was rhodochrosite, but I'm curious about what the rock hounds will say.

Looks like carnelian to me, and probably India.
Most carved semi-precious stone necklaces are from India, some are from Nepal. China is also an option.
Both India and China love carnelian (as do the Dutch;)).

Carnelian would test as quartz on a Presidium, maybe orange jade?

Looks an awfully lot like Carnelian, and garnet for the smooth beads. Those carved beads are beautiful. I don't know how the tester works but do you have a piece of known carnelian you can test to compare the readings?

Could be, AJ...but Dad was Shanty Irish, with a bit of English.
All in all, the mix has been a multiple boon for me!

I looked on the internet, I couldn't find very much orange jade beads, none carved like this. Carnelian does test much lower.
