Featured Another of my Ascension day purchases

    It would be a lie to say that I like them. Quite the reverse. I think they are over the top in gold; but somebody must like them.

    They are decorated by Paul Pastaud, a very respected Limosian artisan. The backmark indicates they were made between 1925 and the mid-30's. No mention of the karat of the gold gilding, just that they are hand painted. Length 65mm x 45mm width x 45mm height.

    I've seen them for sale on Ebay, but there doesn't appear to be any around at the moment. What were/are they used for? What sort of price do they go for? How does one describe them? I only paid a Euro for the pair.
