I just bought this medal / coin / something else... on flea market.
Can't figure out what is it and where it was made.
It is 100% silver, that I'm sure off. Other than that no clue.

This medal (let's just all it that way). has two marks on reverse side.

    One is plata 1000.
    The other NV. GR. 50

Total weight is 50 gram (so NV GR maybe net weight gram).

Plata should point to some Central or South American countries that use this hallmark to stamp silver items, but subject matter makes no sense.

Anyway as always appreciate any info.

Its a medal or medallion, not a coin.
    It looks plated to me.
Use a rare earth magnet to test it.
Here is a video, there are many more explaining how to test silver coins / medals

I tested with magnet and it is non magnetic. It is definitely not plated and Plata 1000 usually means 999 silver.

Not a normal magnet, a Rare Earth Neodymium Magnet.
They are really cheap to buy and the testing results are very accurate.
It looks to have the beginning of green verdigris in picture #3. I would want to test it to be sure.

If it is silver then it is what is known as a bullion round.

Isn't Plata the Spanish term for silver? What countries use this word to mean silver?

Spain, Mexico and South American countries, who else? That would narrow the country of origin.

Plata 1000 generally means either pure silver or pure silver-plated with best odds on the latter. Fine Silver, the pure stuff, is generally marked .999 in my experience.

Tested it on professional equipment on 47th street in NY. It is 999 silver. So I'm 101% sure is not plated.

I know nothing of it. Possible purchase...depends.
I like Statue of Liberty things.
Any discussion of purchase has to be by private conversation.

It is a piece of bullion. Perhaps if it was in mint condition it might have a collectable value. As it is, it is worth 50 grams of silver.
