I don’t know how much you paid but I really love that. My guess is that the so-called jeweler offered them 15 bucks for it after pretending not to see any markings. Anyway, it is gorgeous. R

That. That right there. It’s a perfect thing! How wonderful! I adore cicadas and whomever created this guy was quite a skilled craftsman. Could the stone perhaps be smoky quartz?

Thank you! May I ask what made you stop collecting insect jewellery? My critters and the hunt of them are part of my life!:joyful:

At one point, my partner bought me a diamond bee and asked if he bought me that would I stop. Of course I said yes and still kept on collecting. I found it much easier to find old ones in the UK When we moved here, I had a hoard. I decided to put nearly all of them into auction to send them on their way as I felt I had too much "stuff" Can we ever have too much stuff I ask myself. It was also an age thing as our kids were'nt interested. They had spent their lives being with "stuff miners" and it put them off hoards. It is odd, our son now lives with a hoarder.

Thanks Popsycat to share your story! So... you sold all your pieces, even the diamond bee? :woot:
Having no child, I think I'll go to heaven with all my "hoard", no way to part of it before:vamp:;)

NO, I still have the bee. Tomorrow, I will get someone to photograph the few I kept to show you. I loved collecting insect jewellery.
