Not my personal favorite, but I do have one of those scarab pins around someplace made from a real dead scarab... no idea where that got to.

I always found the dead scarab jewellery sold really well. Never felt tempted to keep any.

Me either; it's in hiding so I can't sell it. I'm not fond of butterfly wing jewelry either.

Typical of the period, but together with the scarabs they look like dangling insect legs.:sorry: On other pieces they look ok(-ish).

I have these beetle wing earrings. Not old. Still kinda creepy, though!

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I've seen pictures of that painting by John Singer Sargent. It is actress Ellen Terry playing Lady Macbeth. Never knew that the dress was still in existence!

    That dress is something else!
I suspect a little scratchy to wear though......

With shed antler buttons! For lining - pesky squirrel fur? I'd suggest the skin of annoying HOA managers, but I don't think that's allowed....

Owl feathers feel velvety, so I would go for a velvet lining.
