    Christmas came early this year!

This was an eBay score from a few weeks ago. Just arrived today.

    A 9ct gold toothpick!

I've included a shot together with my sterling silver toothpick of a similar style & size, and the silver container which I've decided to store them both in:

Couldn't possibly pick caviar and quail out one's teeth without one, could I!? Why, the neighbours would TALK!...

So do I. I just typed in "Antique gold toothpick" into eBay randomly to see what popped up. I wasn't actually planning to buy anything. I saw the prices and I thought "that's a LOT of money for some slidey pokey thing, even if it is gold...eeeehh..."

The one I ended up scoring was miles cheaper, even with the postage included, so I bought it :)

    I wish!!

There's only two marks on it.

    "9ct" for 9ct gold.

    And on the other side:

    "DY", inside a shield.

And that's it. I don't know that I'll be able to trace the manufacture.

I don't 'manufacture' what I see as visible!! HOWEVER, maybe there's the chance that the program's different settings is trying to see too much....there is always that possibility that I haven't taken into account!!!! The main program has a couple of settings that will on occasion "go too far", BUT I almost NEVER, and didn't, use them here!!! AND wouldn't post them anyway if I thought it was a false reading.....I DO TRUST what the owner of an item sees for themselves! I just try to enlarge, clarify & enhance, when possible!! I'm always 'hopeful' for good results for an owner!!:happy::happy:

I "see" it too! It's both in the original photo when I enlarge it and also in the photo you posted, Aqui. This is certainly the type of item Tiffany might sell at the holidays as gifts for folks who have everything.

So I guess one question 'could' be, if it's legitimate, is, does or did, Tiffany ever make anything only 9ct????

I'm happy to take some more photographs, but I don't see anything myself. If anybody can provide some information, that'd be helpful.

Had a closer look. Absolutely nothing there which says "TIFFANY". Just surface scuffs.

The only marks are "9ct" and "DY", in a shield.

I thought I saw Tiffany above where the other obvious marks are, but WDIK?

Now I should just bow out because there are other things I don't understand about the mark. For instance, why does it say 9CT vs. 9Kt? It's a very nice piece, hoping someone knows more.

You'll have to circle the area in one of the photos, so I know precisely where to look, but I don't see anything other than the marks, and surface-scratches from previous use.

@Shangas, here in RED is where we're seeing what we think "could" possibly be a TIFFANY mark.....there's not a whole lot of it there, but enough to make us question it!!! This is a screenshot, enlargement to 200% on my computer.....

@Aquitaine I hate to burst your bubble, but there is nothing there. I've checked it under the strongest magnifying glasses which I have, and there's not even a suggestion of a mark. It's just surface scratches.

If you wanna find out more - track down what the "DY" in the shield means. I haven't found anything yet...
