What's the test for pewter ? What % of tin does it have?
I wasn't aware there's a test for that metal...! :wideyed:

I was thinking the same thing, that's why I asked if pewter is supposed to be marked.

Aluminum is a soft metal and can be easily scratched.
But we don't have this in hand like you do.

They don’t show the bottom, sadly.

It's extremely easy to test pewter, I learned it years ago. just take a carpet tack and make a small scratch. pewter is extremely soft so, the scratch will have a tiny roll of metal at the base of the scratch. You don't have to press hard just lightly.

I think you guys are magnificent. You may have given me the answer..... Secessionist or Arts & Crafts, but my feeling after seeing the copper & brass ice bucket sent in by "I need help" that it's Secessionist. Thanks again I love all you guys.:happy::happy::happy::happy::happy:
