Antique picture frame

    Coyld anyone tell me how old this picture frame is, and mzybe if it has value. The man in ths picture is my grandfather. My mother is 80 yrs old. It resembles carved wood but is cracking and flaking almost like it is not wood. Thank u for any direction you could provide.
