    stanley plane.jpg Hi,
Just sharing a picture of this antique plane from my grandmother's house. It is a Stanley No. 46 plane which apparently was used to carve "dados" and "rabbets". several pieces are missing, but it still looks nice. Approximately 100 years old. Earlier versions had a black finish (japanning). I may or may not try to find the missing pieces. I had some fun learning about the tool and it's uses.

    Greetings Gregory.

If only it could tell a story! It probably produced some amazing carpentry during its lifetime.

You've got a very small part of the assembly, but I suppose the main part so a good start or building block ..long way to go tho!

Could "Stanley" have been the maker? Just a thought.
