Wow! Thanks Huntingtreasure. And everyone else who posted on this print.
I think these are actually engravings with color added.

Maybe you can do further research, or someone else may have more knowledge about how they might be connected.

They look to be the same image, but you're going to have to pay them to get the provenance. How do they know that's Jefferson?

Maybe you could contact Monticello or, better yet, the Smithsonian Portrait Gallery.

Yours doesn't look like an engraving, but that might just be the photo.

If it is Jefferson, it's a flattering portrait.

The artexperts post (thanks, i need) shows 23 images of 23 extremely similar but noticeably different guys (different eyebrows, different eyes, different noses, philtrums, lips, chins, different overall facial proportions) all claiming to be Jefferson. Given that, then fine, Bulldog's portrait can be Jefferson. The problem is one of paintings (interpretation) versus photographs (fact).

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has the original of this miniature you found in Wikipedia. https://www.metmuseum.org/toah/works-of-art/24.19.1/

I do think the other might possibly be based on it. More research needed, because it says Trumbull did small portraits that were studies for larger ones. And this one does look like a sketch or study to me... So perhaps there is a large portrait by Trumbull, and the print in the original post was taken from that?

In this description of a different portrait from the Monticello website it says that Trumbull painted three miniatures of Jefferson. https://www.monticello.org/site/research-and-collections/jefferson-portrait-john-trumbull-painting

The Metropolitan Museum of Art link I posted above does have a way to click and see the provenance of the miniature. It says the following:
"Angelica Schuyler (Mrs. John B. Church), London and New York, 1788–died 1814; her daughter, Catherine Church (Mrs. Bertram P. Cruger), New York and Paris, died 1839; her son, John Church Cruger, Cruger's Island and New York, died 1879; his daughter, Cornelia Cruger, Cruger's Island, New York, died 1922." The site also says that the Met got it as a bequest from Cornelia Cruger in 1923.

So, now to find out about the final painting!

Given the Met example and other Turnbull versions, I have to agree that this is Jefferson... but maybe a couple times removed from the original and flattering.
