I am afraid to remove it from the frame because doing so may cause repairable damage. The signature may be below the viewable area, but I want to avoid damaging it to see. All help and suggestions appreciated.

I'm afraid the severe water damage to this print has made it a total loss.

Thanks for the ID James and Thanks Wiscbirdog for your comment. tomorrow I will have the pleasure of opening it. I think there may be another paper backing the print. Curiosity? Good Morning to those that are waking up

It's true that it's probably easiest to replace the print, but if you want to try to save it, give it a good soak in filtered tap water. That might take some of the sting out of the stains, but it probably wont eliminate them altogether. After soaking, the paper will be heavy with water and weak - very prone to tearing - but if you can move it to paper towel to pat off the surface water, you'll be halfway there. Then sandwich it between multiple layers of paper towel, put a piece of cardboard over it, and press it with books or something for a couple of days.

You'll know if it's having any effect because the water it's soaking in will turn color, but bear in mind that simply attempting this could destroy the print.
