This is usually the case with the antique Russian gold I have seen. Maybe multiple, separate marking was required during a certain period, like after the introduction of a national mark.</p><p><br /></p><p>I hardly have any experience with Russian silver, mostly gold. But to me antique Russian gold and silver marks look pretty much the same.
