Thank you! I'm not much help but just trying to add more information for anybody who might be of help. I agree with you that in that location it is unlikely to be very worn.

 

Oh man thank you so much! You’re going to kill me now that you’ve spent the time looking for these but I just found another mark under a little dust. I bought this in the dark based off a crappy photo of a pile of items. Was hoping it might be silver which it clearly isn’t. Anyways just found a little Wellington Hall Italy mark on the bottom rim. I was so focused on the “touch mark” I didn’t search like I would have on a silver piece for additional marks. Can’t find much on Wellington Hall other than some porcelain claiming to be mid century Italian. At least I was right on the Italian design. You were correct that it’s not of too much age!

I seemed to find quite a few with the flared ends as well as straight. Not sure of meaning still but it didn’t seem uncommon in results.

Hmm didn’t consider that. Anything is possible I suppose. What this exercise made me realize is that the mark I assumed said Italy, may actually not say Italy at all. I saw the Y at the end and thought some of the other letters looked close enough to assume it said something about being made in Italy. Now that I look at the picture it looks like maybe there’s an M, then a PL maybe, ending in a Y? I should take a photo every time. They always help so much. My eye sight is horrible and the phone cameras are excellent, match made in heaven. ...Or maybe it just says Italy, lol. Here’s a photo!

 

Ah you’re quick! Beat my reply with time to spare. Good find, looks like thats my worn down mark. There’s has no Wellington Hall. Maybe they made them for different clients.

The "scalloped" ends of the cross arms type is fleuree cross.

 

I have this mark next to another one on my pewter platter, still trying to figure it out.
