Any idea who made these plates? why would anyone take the trouble grind down the makers mark? i hav

    why would anyone take the trouble grind down the makers mark? i have 4 plates all like this, makers mark removed intentionally.

    looks Russian.

    Maybe decorated by a third party unrelated to the manufacturer of the plate. Maybe the plate was made by a manufacturer in a country considered "the enemy" at the time.
