I found this thermometer at a local thrift store yesterday & since I've never seen one advertising foie gras OR in copper/brass (won't that absorb heat & give a higher reading?), so I bought it.

Google translate gives me this for top part: Dean of Lanvaux

And this on bottom: dean of other foie gras country lanvaux

Can someone tell me anything about this?

    Thank you!

If its for use in the kitchen with no direct heat or sunlight the temp should be normal.
I doubt you will get much interest in it, Foie Gras is banned in many countries and a few US states.
Torture and cruelty of ducks and geese by force feeding to produce ten times enlarged livers.
