Any Rug Experts?

    This small rug measures 21" x 17". Hoping someone may know what area this came from.

    Well, despite the design, it's not "knotted" in the usual sense. The edge finish looks crocheted. I wonder whether that might have been a repair at one time? It's not a kilim, but I don't know what to call it other than "woven." The bright red is probably aniline dye, so that means it's not ancient, but it does have significant loss of the design on one end and close to losing the other. Beyond that... just older.
