I found this painting years ago at an estate sale and have hung it up every Christmas (Maybe it's not even supposed to be of Santa).

The signature is faded and mostly unintelligible, so far as I can tell. The paint is showing wear which makes me think it is rather old. Any tips or suggestions? Thanks and happy New year!

It's not Santa. It's an Italian school painting of a bearded man. Not an uncommon subject. He usually has a pipe.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Welcome to Antiquers, @Tippycanoe . It's a nice tradition you have with your painting.
