Likely the very first time anything logical has ever popped out of my mouth! :cat:

Charlie, I'm not sure I understand your question about collections. What I saw hanging in a hall to honor (was it Wynton Marsallis sp?) - could indeed be considered "a collection" - but this is a young artist - a youth - look at his photograph on one of the painting auctions. He hasn't had enough life experience to make "collections" and I don't know why his work is priced so high, except with effort to try to make him an instant star.

I doubt this tact will work for him.

The link shows a print for $35. Not very expensive, even for a print. Watch to see if any of those sell. *yawns*

I just click "Watch" on eBay for any item I am interested in, even if I don't intend too bid, just to monitor the selling price. I get all the updates and bids. I automatically delete after I have 3 pages of "Ended"so it doesn't get too messy and I have a nice overview of prices achieved or not sold. I also sometimes just monitor by category, item or artist/author name. It all helps me form a nice overview.

Ok then that photo may be of Wynton. I will ask my composer brother later, he wrote music for him.

The "collections" look like something whipped out in one afternoon.

I like its as well. So evocative of New York and painted with a confident, but free-style. Nice buy I think. Will you on-sell or is this one for your "private collection"? Maybe you can have your own web listing too..."from the private collection of Charlie Cheswick". Has a nice ring to it. ;) And your part of Devon looks stunning.

Hi CC. I went and had a look at the Gallery Arcturus in Toronto. He has his own gallery wing there, but most of these paintings are the freeform portraits. The thing that throws me is the photo in the news article you posted. If that's him, he looks so much younger than the photo in the Jazz website. I'm a bit confused. But the hei-art site you posted shows paintings that are definitely the same as yours. He must be a most prolific artist and with his rather extensive profile on wiki, a really interesting man. Whatever, I really like your painting and I think it was worth buying.
