    Frankly, I suspect this was a "starving artist" sofa picture. The frame with it's burlap mat were very popular in that market. Nice enough in the right setting, but may not be a big moneymaker if you intend to sell it.

    It looks like a 1960s sofa painting - pretty but not a high dollar item. They also call these "factory paintings".

    I'd agree with the sofa painting. Have a few of the burlap edged frames, some with Mexico stamped on the back from the 60's and 70s. I do have one with a artist provenance certificate, but those are rare to find. Often becoming lost over the years. Almost looks like one I have of "Hidden Lake" Glacier Park in Montana. A popular place for artists to paint. Still a nice work for someone who likes original paintings at a reasonable cost.
