Anyone Know of Artist Cowan?

    I had 2 of these - this one + a larger version. I sold the larger one to a mid century modern store that had everything in white (chrome was the only other color in the place!) about a year ago & yesterday came across this one when I was finally able to pic a door lock on a storage room that has been locked for ...probably since I sold the partner painting.
    I believe this is a known artist but I can't figure which Cowan it is! Any help would be appreciated.
    PS - This is on a thick heavy board - plywood? - which I thought was unusual, but may help date it?
