Hi all! Picked up this little sterling bar brooch recently. I think it's likely Edwardian or a little later. The stones are glass. First time picking something up with this earlier safety clasp, it's interesting! Does anyone recognise the maker's mark? Thanks for any info as always :) Image - 2022-07-04T135400.045.jpeg Image - 2022-07-04T135321.047.jpeg Image - 2022-07-04T135344.159.jpeg Image - 2022-07-04T135403.536.jpeg Image - 2022-07-04T135355.971.jpeg Image - 2022-07-04T135349.968.jpeg Image - 2022-07-04T135314.720.jpeg

That almost looks like the top half of a dragon head in that mark.

I tried but could not find a US maker with a mark with this sort of bottom.

Spiedel only made (or makes) watches from what I can see. There is no silver mark for them in any of the major lists.

Ah, not in the US then? That mark is for gold.

A German maker would be unlikely to use "sterling?"

Some big German manufacturers marked "sterling" for export to certain countries. But this isn't the Speidel mark.:(
