Featured Anyone recognise this type of Chinese brass bowl?

    Sorry this doesn’t have the beautiful
    colors of the last post I made, but can anyone add some history to this bowl. I dont think it was for food or incense. Storage?

    There are no markings other than the obvious decorative lid, which my guess is Happiness, Wealth, Longevity and Luck. Not necessarily in that order. :)

    Approx: 5.5” wide

    Looks like it was spun/shaped on a lathe.

    Perhaps a begging/alms bowl, used by a Buddhist monk.

    We have a resident community of Tibetan monks in town, and they carry MUCH larger bowls!

    It is a rice bowl, of the type also used by monks.:sorry: It looks 19th century Korean to me.
    Bigger stomachs.:greedy:;)
    Marco's is the same size as my Korean rice/monk's bowl.
