Arabic language gold marks

    Ah, now I think I see what you are seeing, but it only reads as 710 if you assume the mark is the right way up in the photo & that there is a dot/full stop after the VI & not just an irregularity in the metal.

    The ΙΛ mark is common. A mark for 710 written in the Eastern Arabic system is something I have not seen before. What would it indicate & which country would have applied such a mark? If it is for gold fineness, it would stand for approx. 17K.
