I believe this may be quite rare, but would appreciate any help you can muster with any kind of pertinent information. I found a couple of dogs with clocks like this one, and the prices asked for and/or listed are pretty good.

What little I know: This is a pug/Boston Terrier/Bulldog made of bronze (not cast iron). It was purchased in the Midwestern U.S. The seller knew of one other one within a hundred miles or so, but it was displayed in a store and the owner refuses to talk about selling it.

The clock's movement is surprisingly substantial for a novelty item such as this one, and it's inscribed "Meyer" and evidently made in Germany. The quality of the movement is probably the main factor supporting the still-flawlessly wagging tail and darting tongue; from what I can gather it was cast ca. 1880.

It's rather small, as you can see by the winding key and the Murano tazzas on each side. Nevertheless, it ticks so loudly that it must live in the dining room instead of the living room, which was the original plan.

    What say ye??

Prices looks surprisingly good (I won’t have thought that high) Personally it’s a bit of a weird look to me. I would have liked it more without the clock (ha ha) Anyway, good money!

I'm always looking at the background on British tv shows and I swear I've seen one of those on a desk. I just can't remember what show or what episode - was it Miss Marple? Poirot? Midsomer Murders? Anyway, I spend most of the show looking at backgrounds!

If you’re talking to me, yes, I did take a video. I was not able to download it. File was too big.
