Glass dressing table sets were hugely popular items during the 1930s and numerous glass producing factories introduced at least one pattern-type. Some had a large variety of items which were unable to fit upon their tray as one complete set, and were made available as separate components to suit individual customer requirements. Single candlesticks for example could be paired-up with one lidded-powder pot and a large tray, and/or two small trinket pots perhaps and an additional ring dish of the same pattern. Some factories such as Walther & Sohnne, and Bagley, went a stage further by introducing clocks of the same pattern-type as well as vases and lamps.

I have long since sold many of my own examples, but have held onto the several shown below.

The tray was designed & produced several years before the other parts were introduced.

The set makes clever use of its tray design.

Some sets can be built-up at a relatively low cost. Many collectors purchase a single powder or trinket pot from each pattern-type in the same colour, or just the trays. Pairs of candlestick are also popular items to collect, and the variety available is huge.
