Featured Artist ID Stained Glass 1925

Discussion in 'Art' started by Justin Juliano, Jan 19, 2020.

  1. These two pieces came from Germany. I’m having trouble determining the artist. It appears it could be E. Schafer. It also appears to be dated 1925. Both pieces have the same name and date. I’m new to this forum and I still haven’t figured out how to rotate a picture. Sorry. Any help would be appreciated. 2F161465-500B-41E9-A95B-49A5BB81E966.jpeg

Saved them to my PC, then used 'right click' to rotate them.

  5. I didn't measure them. Roughly 12 x 18 inches

    Beautiful, Justin.
    E. Schäfer, looks like Basel, 1925. Basel is in Switzerland.

  8. My grandfather who just passed after a long battle with cancer lived in Germany for the last 40 or 50 years. I have inherited a lot of things that I am unfamiliar with. Thank you so much for your help.

I am so sorry to hear that. This must be a terribly difficult time for you. Not to worry about snafus in posting photographs; happens to many who are new here. You'll get the hang of it.

Gorgeous piece. So thrilling to own something so awesome. Sorry it has to come to you in this way, though.

  14. It's pretty amazing to think someone created this 95 years ago! And how different the world is today. I'm glad it survived.

  16. That really helped. I was able to find where his work is in the Historical Museum in Basel. Not quite sure where I am going to go from here, but it is very interesting. Thank you so much. Not sure how you all do your search queries but you are clearly finding things I did not.

rather easy, I am from Basel. :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:
there is also the possibility that the worked as constant member of the masons lodge for the cathedral. but I didn't find any further infoes about him or a list of workers.
