I found this vase today at a yard sale.
It is 14.5" tall by 7.5" in diameter.
It has a small patterned crystalline glaze in a sage green color.
The inside is only partially glazed, and has awkward drips of glaze.
The bottom is unglazed with a "59" in a square. The typeface is slanted and looks
    1900-1930s to me.
I'm a little bit concerned about the crude bottom. The bottom doesn't look worn, but the little black pads may have saved it from wear and tear.
Is it a "something" or a "nothing"?

I like it but that bottom screams Chinese to me. Im often wrong though.

Maybe Vietnamese in this case? I'm not seeing any age there either. Love me some crystalline glaze though.

But if it's Chinese or Vietnamese, why would the mark be "59"?
I would think the mark would be Asian.
    It's a quandary!

    1959? That's my guess (and it's strictly a guess.)

Much Chinese and Korean recent pottery has numbers. Pattern and shape references.

Agree, modern Asian but certainly a good look.

    Thanks everyone!
I suspected 'modern' at first sight.
But I loved the shape, and it was only $4.

One day, I will find that holy grail piece of pottery!
Like that Teco you have @verybrad! I'm very jealous....
