even though i dont think old, still quite happy with it
not charity shop cheap, but not very much
gamble(£30), but should be able to get that much back for it
    good size 12 inches, undamaged
the deep base makes me think japanese, but unsure

It's faience, yes? Looks like a mixture of designs with classic blue and iron red glazes. Japanese-ish scene on the mid section, but the top and bottom rims are different design elements (I forget what those leaf patterns are called). The handles are reminiscent of Chinese wares. I'm confused, LOL!

It is strange. Is the red over glaze or under glaze? My understanding is it’s very hard to get underglaze red to come out right while also getting the cobalt to come out right. They require different temperatures I believe. The red doesn’t look right for Chinese for sure if it’s under glaze. Nice enough looking piece. I see why you’d think Japanese or Chinese.

interesting, thanks jd. the red appears underglaze, but at a different/higher level than the blue, its more raised than the blue to the touch

Did you try google lens? Might give you a lead. I rather like it and it's a good size!

Yeah i do too, but i think its trying to replicate something a lot older, the image searches come up with the same colour types for yuan style vases

so i dont know if thats what its trying to be
