Featured Asian pottery, technique and markings question

    Hello. Today I purchased this lovely vase. I payed $1 for it. Broken handle on top was glued but I did not care. The color is greenish olive; about 5” tall. Inside the vase there is another round vase that will hold water, but how on earth one makes that? Any help with Asian markings please? As always, thank you so much.     I can't read it, but it is a Korean celadon 'basket' jar.
    Celadon is the name of that greenish colour.

    My most precious pottery has some dings, or repairs. It reminds me of Frasier episode where we learn that many of his art PCs are repaired and glued. :smuggrin:
    I’m adding this one to my collection.

    Broken pottery can still be beautiful. The most important thing is that you enjoy it.

    I agree! Broken pottery can definitely still be beautiful. I love the Japanese art of Kintsugi. If something of mine were to break, I would definitely give it a try :happy:

    Is it something you would be able to do yourself? Do you have a background in that kind of thing?

    We also have some threads with stapled ceramics. Always so touching when you think of the value things had to people, and of the craft involved.

    It's contemporary. old Koryeo Celadon were mostly unmarked.

    Thanks for welcoming me, I am so happy to have found this forum! :happy:
    I will definitely check out the other threads here. I agree! Giving a broken sentimental piece new life is such a beautiful craft.
    Also, excuse me, I should have said in the style of Kintsugi as I do not have a background in it. It is a beautiful art and the idea behind it is truly inspiring.
