    [IMG] [IMG] Hi there!
I came across this Asian tapestry and am trying to figure out any information on it. Does anyone have any ideas or info on when and where it may have been made?
    Thanks in advanced!

I’m trying to upload through imgur but the files aren’t going through. I’m now trying to delete the thread until I can figure it out and I don’t know how to that either.

To delete a thread usually requires one of the Moderators.... @daveydempsey !! I've just tagged him! HOWEVER, YOU OR someone just got your image uploaded, so I wouldn't delete it at this point, if I were you!!!!!!!

You did fine with your pictures. Sometimes takes a while to get the hang of things. As Aquitaine said - we all had to learn.

It appears to be hand done. It looks card table size. About 3'x3'?
    Maybe 1950ish - just a guess.

    My guess would be 1930s.
There are two girls or women being carried in litters in a festive procession. Probably the same woman twice. She could be on her way to be wed.
The cloth looks like silk, the figures are appliquéd textile with some stitching/embroidery for detail. It isn't really a tapestry imo, where everything would be woven as one piece.

Not a textile person. So I could be wrong.
Looks like Polished Cotton with cotton burlap and denim used for applique.

Card table. I have a whole collection of them. My aunt used to embroider and crochet and sell her things. I inherited a trunk full of what I call "soft" antiques. This was back in the 20s and 30s when women played bridge every week. There are all kinds of designs.

Lol, you guys are all experts.
Yes, this tapestry is about the wedding article. And the bride is sitting in the sedam chair lifting by 4 persons. The other person are playing Souna and waist drum.
Yes, the tapestry is chinese, however, I cannot tell the age of it through the photo because there are so many newly made tapestries and robes sold as antiques.

In addition, do you know where are these tapestries usually used?
They normally used as the curtain of the window on the sedan chair, curtain of the window on the carriage, curtain of the window of houses, addition decoration sewing on the quilt and applique of clothing in some chinese ethnicities .
I never heard they are used as table cover.
