I just recently bought some AAA lithographs and thought that not everyone really knows about these vintage prints that have become extremely collectable. Born in the depression era, AAA sought to make high quality art prints accessible to the masses. Well-known artists were commissioned to create signed prints that were offered at affordable prices. Today, AAA prints from top artists such as Thomas Hart Benton and Grant Wood can command up to $3000. Many are available at much more affordable prices.

Looking for AAA prints is pretty easy. They came with information labels on the back that are often found intact. The label evolved over time but here is an example of one of the earliest ones. Prints are also sometimes marked on the front with the AAA logo, so the absence of the back label is not a deal-breaker. I try to buy AAA prints whenever I can. In particular, I collect WPA era art and find that those artists are well represented by AAA.
