    Hi All,
Just came across this little autograph book that I've had for ages, thought I would share it here. A souvenir from a trip/holiday to Saranac Lake, NY.
    It is 4 3/4" x 6 1/4", dates are in the 1930s.
    I love the artwork:)

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Oh, that's a nice one! I like old autograph books. For a while I was starting to collect some but if bought through eBay most of the nice ones were more than I wanted to spend.

My mother and her sisters all had autograph books from the 20s and 30s with lots of cute little poems. Such innocent times before Instagram and Snapchat!

I wonder how many 'selfies' will be around 80+ years from now:)

    Hi,
All old journals are delightful. I have one from 1921 written by a young lady on her first trip to Europe. She was 19 years old. In the three months she was away her writing changed from "56 degrees this morning" to what a wonderful experience the the sunlight was on her feelings of love for the Italian countryside. I really hated when the journal ended. She went from NYC to ireland, England, France and Italy. The only names to appear were hers (Emily) and several friends. All first names but well known locals.

What a creative bunch - then there's M. Cox, possibly feeling a little lost for ideas :)

Here's what my mom wrote in a fit of insecurity in her own yearbook, circa 1936:

    Dear Lorraine,
it must be wonderful to be so popular and have soooo many friends to sign your yearbook!
Gosh! You make Hedy Lamarr look like a wet dishrag! Have a wonderful summer!
    Your friend,
    Lorraine

    Psycho mommy :angelic:
She DID have friends! Just bad timing and the patience of a 15-year old :)

Like so many other things, I'd never have seen it if she hadn't randomly pointed it out to me.
