Hello, we found this ax in the woods in Europe last spring. All it says is VERDUGO 1. Can anyone tell us from where it is and from what year? Thank you !!
You did a great job cleaning it up! All I know is "Verdugo" is a type of narrow sword the Spanierds brought to the Americas to kill people with.
https://www.todocoleccion.net/ This is a great site for looking up anything you might think comes from Spain. Ax is "hacha"
I like the way you blocked out the child's face....very savvy !! As for the axe .....next time ask around first before completely ridding it of all patina......it may have greatly diminished it's value.
nice clean up,i would have done the same.,,,i dont polish the elaborate embossed ones?,.,.,but very rarely find them
I always clean stuff up, it can make a difference in collectability but I have never found anything rare enough to get excited about. I can afford to lose a dollar.
could be a brush machete.. or a Billhook ....... U need to start your own thread with more and better photo's... & information ..( u give none..).... Help us...to help u !!!
