Stylistically this doesn't look like what I'd expect for a Bakelite necklace, but sometimes I've been surprised. Did you test all the beads?

How do you test them safely? I sold a green bakelight radio and this is very heavy and feels like the same material. The flash throws off the picture.

There are a number of tests, a quick internet search will help you. Examples on Youtube for testing Bakelite etc. Lots of info out there.

One trick, if you rub a bead with a finger, back and forth until you almost feel some warmth from the friction and then quickly smell the bead, Bakelite will smell a bit like insulation.

yes they smell and clink like a bakelight bracelet. 409 method too abrasive. Thank you. Back to youtube. Lol.

Really need better pictures. Currently with @Lucille.b that if these beads are all bakelite, it's surprising.

With current photos, I would have guessed 1980s at the earliest.

The best way to test Bakelite is simichrome cream it’s very accurate and doesn’t damage the item. Rub it on with an ear bud and if the cream turns yellow it’s Bakelite
