    Hello!

Bought this basket from a thrift store a few months back (haven't gotten around to taking pictures of it until now). Definitely looks like it has more potential than the typical baskets those stores sell, so I'm hoping someone here might know some information on it.

It is 33-ish cm across and 9-10 cm tall.

    Any help is appreciated! :)

Not much to go on, here. But I don't believe it is Native American. Possibly from the east-central African region, Rwanda and Uganda. The purple color used in the minimal design is seen on many African baskets from east and southern Africa. And somewhat similar zig-zag motifs appear on Tutsi baskets from Rwanda. Like komo, I noticed the stepped rim. It might be something like an older version of this "clamshell" basket from Uganda -
