Featured Baubles and beads or the real McCoy?

    Before I give this necklace to my 10-yer old granddaughter as a welcome when she comes for a four week holiday, I thought it wise to check it out.

    You need a UV torch. Some might well be the real thing.

    The pictures are very small, but going by what I see:
    Some of the beads resemble reconstituted amber. I have never seen an amber necklace where reconstituted beads were combined with natural amber, so that means a negative from me.

    And the bead on the right doesn't look like amber to me, it has a fibrous structure:

    One dead giveaway - that bubble-shape inside of the suspect bead. That means modernish plastic without a doubt. Not amber, not bakelite, not anything but give-to-grandkid.
