Featured Be Humble You Cool F**ker

I acquired this lighter about 1990 from a yard sale in New York State.


As the internet developed I searching periodically until “Red Eagles: America’s Secret MiGs” was found on google books. It’s the story or how the United States Air Force acquired Russian-made MiG jets, eventually creating a secret squadron. This took place from the mid-1960s until the end of the Cold War.

A mission was developed to use these Migs to train American pilots in mock dogfights. The program was called CONSTANT PEG. This took place north of Las Vegas in Area 51 by the 4477th Test and Evaluation Squadron, Nellis Air Force Base.

These pilots learned to fly these without a manual. No easy task, but they were the best of the best! They adopted a mantra “Be Humble You Cool F**ker” to remind them to be trainers and not to be cocky towards their trainees.

It’s my assumption that someone associated with this program made it for personal use.

The motto “Be Humble You Cool F**ker”.
Snoopy is an ACE PILOT.

There’s no SECRET who “007” is.

THAT was a VERY PRICEY patch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

At the bottom of the patch ad:
"The name of the Special Forces soldier will be given to the buyer."

ya that was a fun video...... but....dogfight, dogfight, dogfight......and no mention of when or which guns the plane was finally given.... grrrrrr
