Featured Bead necklace restring clasp advice

    I thought you may like to see the finished article :shame:
    In the end I went for a fancier clasp as I tried spring rings and just wasn't happy. I found some old pearls that had this clasp so pulled the old pearl out and glued the one spare red bead in.
    Hopefully now restored to their former glory!.

    Thankyou so much. My first proper restringing job!. I've got piles of beads stacked up to do which will keep me busy. Looks like I'm going to be buying up old faux pearl necklaces just for the clasps.

    I like it. I have several old long strings like this and some don't have clasps - they just go round and round. I never thought about adding a clasp like this and the modern clasps just don't work. Of course, I'll probably never get around to repairing them so I ought to give them up.

    Here's another one I've just done.1950s? I'm going to have to redo it though as I missed a bead out :banghead::banghead:. Reclaimed clasp and a tiny bit of green bling!.
    Actually I've also strung it slightly too tightly too so I won't be happy unless it hangs right so will address that too.
