Featured Bear with me (see what I did there?) incoming jools, brooches first

OK, not told you how I've fed the hoard lately. Let's start with brooches. Nice Edwardian bar, 9 ct, bloke sold it to me for below scrap because I've helped him. The pinkish is interesting. I'm wondering sappharine. Nice faux coral. Lapis, another old Scottish hardstone and a double eagle. Seller missed the 800 mark!

The pinky one has mauve and blue flashes and blue veiling, but I can't capture it properly. Deffo colour change.

 

Looks like satin glass from here rather than sapphiret or dragon's breath.

 

Is it what they call Moon Glow or is that something else?
(not sure who ‘they’ are but never mind)

 

Might be, I've not had satin which showed a colour change.

I'd say not moonglow though.

 

Moonglow is generally plastic. Doesn't sell for much, but it's pretty. I've never seen satin glass do dragon's breath either, but I've also never seen it in pink.

Me too, but I generally find the lucite version. It doesn't sell alas. The glass does better, so of course I never find any.

 

I shall try to get a better photo of it. It's certainly glass.

 

Beautiful haul! My favs are the banded agate and the double headed eagle. Do you keep them as a collection or are you buying to resell?
